Removable lid shaped as a dome embellished with embossed leaves and four flower buds in the corners, the handle formed as Atlas with a child at his feet, small bole with application of flower stems ending with flower buds covering the square base holding the square case including two panels decorated with angels and foliage, a third representing Adam and Eve, the latter holding an apple used as a handle to open the panel, the fourth adorned with holly
Signed J. Brateau on the door and Jules Brateau under the base
36 cm. high

An identical example is in the collection of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, Richmond, USA, another in the collection of the Bourges museums and a third in a private collection (the family of the artist)
