In a letter dated 10th December 2023, Frederic Descouturelles, Secretary of the Guimard Circle, informs us that the marble fireplaces designed for the Castel Beranger and illustrated on plate 40 in the portfolio, Guimard did not provide specific designs for cast iron inserts. These were simple white earthenware bevelled plates.
